Ethiopia can be seen as the traditional homeland of all Arabica beans. Coffee of outstanding quality grows there, in the shade of the jungle. Farmer Kebede Debessa Mena knows the best way to grow coffee. In Didu, at approximately 1,800 metres above sea level, he grows the natural Arabica coffee variety of Illubabor Didu. After manual harvesting the fruits are dried together with their flesh. Later, here in Graz, we roast the beans in the drum. The result is a coffee with a flowery aroma, good body and subtle acidity.
